Why should I join?

• If you're interested in your future as a clinically orientated optometrist, then the Academy will be there to encourage you to practise to the best of your ability.

How do I become a student member?

• Download a membership pack, fill in the form and post it off to the US address as instructed.

• If you have a credit card, you can quote your number and expiry date, sign the instruction to pay, and the rest will be taken care of.

What you get for $25 a year :-

1. You will receive the Academy's monthly journal, which is intentionally clinically orientated.

2. Encouragement to practise optometry to your best abilities.

3. Encouragement to attend the Academy's annual clinical conference in the US. This is scheduled for December every year. For 5 days, there are CE lectures and workshops in 8 parallel lecture theatres. The attendance is now over 3000 delegates per annum. For students the registration fee is minimal. Some Chapters, and occasionally the British Chapter provide a bursary to attend the meetings.

4. Encouragement to become a full member of the Academy when you have qualified.
