David Bennett Lic Ac MBAcC BSc Hons (App Biol) ARCS

David originally qualified with a degree in Applied Biology from Imperial College, University of London and went on to complete the first year of a PhD there before deciding his future lay outside regular western scientific research. He subsequently qualified with a Licenciate in Acupuncture from the College of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA), Leamington Spa in 1996 and his strong scientific background has been invaluable ever since in developing a reflective and evolving practice.

David has worked in full time clinical practice since then and is continually working to expand and deepen his skills driven out of a desire to be the best he can be for his patients and from a love for the tradition of this ancient healing art. As well as his core classical 5 Element practice, David has extensive experience in Japanese acupuncture (Toyohari, Shonishin/paediatric and Manaka acupuncture) and draws these influences together to provide powerful and effective care.

Although based mainly at the Marine Clinic David also works one day a week in London's Harley Street area and so is available for appointments there too.

David is a member of the advanced practitioner study group Wider Horizons run by Niki Bilton, Canada. He spent many years interning with the founder of CTA, JR Worseley before his death and was an early faculty member of the School of Five Element Acupuncture (SOFEA), London. Before relocating to Brighton in 2000 David worked for 3 years on one of the first ever NHS acupuncture contracts at Kings College Hospital, London. He currently leads a mentoring group ShuHaRI for junior acupuncture practitioners, ran a successful mens group in Brighton and is also a qualified life coach. He manages the Marine Clinic and is the Senior Acupuncture Practitioner there.

Oh and a back of an envelope calculation for you-given the average number of people I see a week over my 20plus years in practice..that's currently around 23,000 individual acupuncture sessions I've learnt from. Wow!
