p r o f i l e

 My paintings hover between specificity and openness. They represent intense, personal responses to observations, memories or events. I find an irreverent enjoyment and a great challenge in painting - mixing loose brushwork with fine detail and considerable re-working, often surfacing isolated figures and shapes.

For the past few years I have developed the collaborative project 'Obscure Secure' with fellow artists Jacqueline Utley and Claudia Böse. Our project explores twentieth century women artists and contextualises their work within contemporary artists practice.

I work part-time in the public arts sector and have in the past worked in the arts with people with learning difficulties, mental health service users and children.
