- Membership is open to all UK registered optometrists
who share these ideals and show their competence by examination of 5
case reports. Vision scientists working in the area
of vision enhancement or clinical optometry are also encouraged
to join.
Further details about joining as a full or

- The British Chapter provides 2 yearly continuing education
conferences with the emphasis on advanced techniques,
and the airing of new knowledge through the presentation of research papers.
The chapter will also campaign to improve the scope of British optometry.
- It is a requirement of the Chapter that members provide evidence of 10 hours continuing education a year.
- The Academy is fast becoming the world's leader in promoting high standards of optometry, and in particular providing international links between optometrists of all countries.
